I honestly do not know how I would’ve gotten through this fence experience with Lowe’s without Jamie Leonard aka the Fence Angel, she has seriously made the process as smooth as can be. We had a lot of communication problems with Lowe’s that Jamie kept working on so hard to fix it and to get my fence installed, before during and after. Everything I needed was taken cared of! It’s the straightest most beautiful fence I have ever had installed and they will be the company I have back to do the other side!Posted on Google![]()

Fencing Materials
Florida State Fence offers materials engineered for Central Florida’s climate and suited to Orlando-area property needs.
Vinyl fencing delivers privacy and low maintenance ideal for Orlando suburban homes. Available in a variety of colors and styles to meet design guidelines, vinyl features hardware rated for Florida weather—storms, sun exposure, and humidity. It’s a popular choice for subdivision properties across the region.
Aluminum fences in Orlando are popular for meeting Florida pool safety codes while providing open sight lines and are also ideal for lake properties and front yards on corner lots. Corrosion-resistant powder-coat finishes withstand Florida weather without coastal salt concerns, making aluminum a durable, low-maintenance option for residential and light commercial applications.
Wood fencing offers a classic choice for privacy, security, and customization on Orlando properties. We use pressure-treated pine with cap-and-trim options, wind bracing, and construction methods suited to Central Florida conditions. Wood is highly adaptable to design requirements and varied lot configurations.
Chain link fencing provides a practical balance of cost, durability, and visibility for commercial yards, storage facilities, and residential side or rear yards. Available in galvanized or vinyl-coated options with privacy slats where permitted, chain link is a common choice for industrial properties and dog kennels throughout the area.
SimTek fencing is a simulated stone panel system engineered to withstand Florida’s most intense weather while blocking 98% of direct sound—great for properties near busy roads or commercial areas. Its realistic stone appearance comes in natural colors, making it a strong choice for noise reduction between residential and commercial zones.
Trex fencing offers a premium option made from 95% recycled materials, available in vertical or horizontal styles with multiple cap options. It delivers low maintenance with exceptional durability in Florida’s climate and an upscale appearance for design-forward properties and high-end subdivisions.
Specialty Fencing in Orlando
Temporary fencing is offered for construction sites, special events, and projects throughout the Orlando metro with delivery, setup, and pickup on your schedule.
Gates and access controls include slide gates, swing gates, automatic operators, keypads, and vehicle access solutions common for gated communities, commercial facilities, and residential driveways. We offer maintenance plans to keep systems operating reliably.
Pool safety fences are required by Florida law for all residential properties with pools. Our pool fences in Orlando feature self-closing, self-latching gates meeting Florida safety codes with proper height requirements, opening specifications, and non-climbable zone compliance. We ensure that your fence design coordinates with your property’s aesthetic and meets local guidelines.
Orlando Fence Regulations & Considerations
The Orlando metro spans multiple jurisdictions with varying fence regulations. Florida State Fence handles permit applications, zoning verification, and architectural or HOA requirements so you don’t have to navigate the complexity alone. Requirements differ for the City of Orlando, unincorporated areas, and individual municipalities; every project begins with confirming the specific rules for your property.
City of Orlando Fence & Wall Regulations
Orlando regulates fence height, materials, setbacks, and placement through its zoning code, with different standards for residential and commercial properties. Permit requirements vary by fence height, material, and location. Learn more about City of Orlando fence permits and the Orlando municipal code.
Orange County Rules
Unincorporated Orange County has specific permit and zoning requirements, with height limits and setback rules that apply even when building permits may be exempt. We contact county zoning to verify requirements for your parcel. Explore Orange County building permits and zoning information.
Seminole County & Lake County Notes
Permit requirements vary by location within each county, and height restrictions and setback rules differ from Orange County. We’ll confirm with the Seminole County building services or Lake County building department which rules apply based on your property location.
Typical Residential Heights in Orlando Metro
Many jurisdictions commonly allow six-foot fences in rear and side yards, while front yard heights are often limited to lower maximums. Exact limits vary by city, county, and local requirements.
HOA & Architectural Review Requirements
Communities throughout the Orlando metro require approval before installation. Architectural review committees review fence designs, materials, colors, and placement, with approval timelines typically ranging from two to six weeks. We prepare submittal packets with specifications, drawings, and material samples to streamline the process.
Storm & Wind Considerations
The Florida Building Code includes wind design criteria affecting fence construction. Orlando isn’t a coastal zone but still requires proper post depth, bracing, and hardware rated for high winds, especially given the severe thunderstorms and straight-line winds the metro experiences. Learn about ASCE wind standards and the Florida Building Code.
Lake Properties & Drainage
Many Orlando-area properties feature lakes, ponds, or wetlands where setback requirements may apply near water features. Drainage patterns and flood considerations affect fence placement and post installation. We review site conditions and any FEMA flood designations during planning. Explore the FEMA Flood Maps in your area.
Individual Municipality Guidelines
Winter Park, Maitland, Ocoee, Winter Garden, Apopka, and other cities maintain independent codes that may differ from county regulations. Some municipalities have historic district considerations. Florida State Fence identifies which jurisdiction governs your property and confirms its specific requirements.
