Why Choose Trex Fencing Over Wood Fence?
Trex Fencing Last Longer Then Wood
When your comparing the cost of wood fence verse to the cost of a Trex Fence, the initial cost of the wood fence is cheaper. Once you start the yearly maintenance process of your wood fence, the cost will continue to raise year over year. Compare that to a Trex Fence, the initial cost is all you have moving forward.
Composite Fence Is Stronger
Trex is a composite material made of both wood and plastic. Their special formula takes the strength of wood and pairs it with the durability of plastic. The pickets are solid and do not absorb moisture, where wood pickets are milled from natural materials. Wood pickets will absorb moisture, swell and dry every day. This natural process weakens the materials and causes the woods to crack and warp.
Environmentally Responsible
Trex Fencing is made up of 95% recycled materials and contains no hazardous chemicals. Even Trex’s manufacturing process is green with the elimination of smoke stacks and reduced CO2 emissions. Wood fence manufacturers new wood products, increasing their carbon footprint. If you are focused on having a responsible, eco-friendly building, don’t mar your landscape by using wood fence. Trex Fencing even qualifies for LEED points through the U.S. Green Building Council.
Trex has a 25-year warranty, which is longer than most people will live in their homes. Imagine installing a fence that never needs repairs or replacing, a fence that never breaks and always looks good. Trex won’t break or fade, making repairs and maintenance unnecessary. Compare that to non-warrantied wood fence , and instantly you have oeace of mind! Wood fence going to crack, break, chip, or fade, you’ll have to make time to fix it. That’s something you’ll never have to worry about with Trex.
Color Weathering. The time and degree of the weathering process depends on exposure to UV light. Fencing that has less exposure to sunlight may take longer to fade. Due to the nature and process of producing composite materials it should be expected that color variation between Trex Composite Fencing components may occur and in some cases may be significant. Trex Fencing is produced from a variety of recycled plastic and wood fibers that may absorb pigments differently. Color variation does not affect the integrity of the product. Variation may be more pronounced with Saddle and Winchester Grey. The colorization process during manufacturing deliberately over-pigments the product to ensure the final weathered color is achieved when it has faded. All three colors of Trex Fencing will lighten over time and some of the color variation may become less noticeable. However, weathering will not eliminate all variation. To minimize the appearance of the variation, extra care should be taken to install similarly pigmented pickets within a given lot code close together, where possible.
